JUDGING CRITERIA AND PROCESS
Over the course of the event weekend, the submitted products go through judging. Criteria; blind tasting (90%) and product outlook (10%).
During the controlled blind tasting, the judges are not aware of the product aesthetic or price point to make sure that the products are judged equally without bias. The judges taste and score the products on an individual level and asses their value in their respected fields. Products are judged individually and not compared against other entries.
The aesthetic criteria is based on the bottle, brand image and overall appeal of the product. Our competition is an indication of the possible success of the products in the market, focusing on the Nordic market. Our judges range from importers and distributors to consumers and enthusiasts. The products that win medals from our competition can be sure that they appeal to the consumers.
The judging notes are gathered and the products are awarded according to them.
The competition is divided into 3 main categories:
SPIRITS (ALL SPIRITS, INCLUDING LIQUEURS)
WINES (ALL WINE CATEGORIES, INCLUDING SPARKLING)
BREWERY (ALL BREWERY PRODUCTS, INCLUDING ALCOHOLIC RTD-DRINKS)
Multiple participants can be awarded with medals within the same category or sub-categories. The medal is a sign of a quality products, instead of a strict numerical placement in the competition.
